Melania Trump Salutes Military Members and Families Ahead of President Meeting Special Forces that Led the Capture of Venezuelan Leader Nicolas Maduro
Plus, the first lady makes her fourth visit to The Children’s Inn this week.

First Lady Melania Trump saluted military members and their families at Fort Bragg and Pope Army Airfield in North Carolina before introducing her husband, President Trump, on Thursday with a message about love ahead of Valentine’s Day.
“To our great armed forces of the United States stationed all over the world, I have a nostalgia-filled message: Happy Valentine’s Day!” she said. “Love letters have symbolized the union of patriotism and family devotion among our soldiers for 250 years. The harmony of love of country and love of family is what makes us uniquely American. It is this very balance which strengthens our military and builds our communities.”
The visit also spotlighted members of the United States Army Special Forces who were involved in the capture of Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro and Cilia Flores.

Melania Trump Participates in a Valentine’s Day Visit at The Children’s Inn
For the first time in her husband’s second term as president, First Lady Melania Trump on Wednesday visited children with rare and serious diseases at The Children’s Inn at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) in Bethesda, Maryland, for Valentine’s Day.
Mrs. Trump joined the children, their families, and staff members for an afternoon of making Valentine’s Day crafts while chatting with them about their lives and health.
The event even revealed that Mrs.Trump doesn’t particularly eat much sweets.
“Sugar is not that healthy for us,” she said, according to The Associated Press.
Mrs. Trump has visited The Children’s Inn four times as first lady, visiting three times in the first term, according to The White House.
“Love reveals itself in many forms, especially in the hardest moments of care and compassion,” remarked Mrs. Trump. “The Children’s Inn provides important support to children who have been diagnosed with rare and serious diseases. Returning to The Children’s Inn at NIH is a special reminder of warmth that exists here year-round thanks to the profound resilience of these young people and the dedication of those working to provide comfort, hope, and support during clinical trials. I wish them all a very happy Valentine’s Day.”
The Children’s Inn at NIH is a nonprofit that provides a free residential “place like home” to reduce the burden of illness, make childhood possible, and help advance medical research. Families with children, teens, and young adults participating in leading-edge studies at the NIH Clinical Center, the nation’s premier biomedical research hospital, have been welcomed at The Inn since 1990.
