‘Melania’ Documentary Set for Theaters in Early 2026
Amazon MGM Studios announces Melania Trump’s doc to release on January 30.
The first image from the forthcoming Amazon MGM Studios Melania was released Thursday along with the announcement that the Melania Trump documentary from director Brett Ratner is set to exclusively hit theaters in the United States and select territories overseas on January 30. It will be available for streaming audiences on Prime Video after its theatrical run.
Mrs. Trump alongside Fernando Sulichin are executive producers of the film, which offers unprecedented access to the 20 days leading up to the 2025 Presidential Inauguration—through the eyes of the first lady-elect herself, the studio said in its announcement.
Viewers will be able to step inside Melania Trump’s world as she orchestrates inauguration plans, navigates the complexities of the White House transition, and reenters public life with her family. With exclusive footage capturing critical meetings, private conversations, and never-before-seen environments, Melania showcases Mrs. Trump’s return to one of the world’s most powerful roles.
A three-part docuseries in addition to the main documentary also is in production and will reveal more details of Mrs. Trump’s life in the 20 days leading up to the inauguration that includes her travel between New York City, Palm Beach, Florida, and Washington D.C.
Amazon agreed to pay $40 million in order to license a documentary and a limited series about Mrs. Trump.
Mrs. Trump’s memoir Melania was published in October 2024. In the book, Trump, who was born outside of the United States, reflects on her childhood growing up in Slovenia and the path that led her to a modeling career in Europe and New York, how she met Donald Trump, experiences from serving as first lady during her husband’s first term and her revealing pro-abortion stance.
