Jill Biden's Community College Teaching Era Comes to a Close

First Lady Dr. Jill Biden, a teacher for 40 years, announced on Monday that she closed out the semester teaching her final class at Northern Virginia Community College. The first lady shared the news during a virtual White House “Thank You” event for educators. Biden is the first woman in the role to work while serving in the White House.
“Last Thursday, I taught my last class of the semester, and my final class ever at Northern Virginia Community College,” Biden said. “I will always love this profession, which is why I continued to teach full-time while serving as your first lady.”
The first lady, 73, taught English and writing at NOVA for the past 15 years, including when her husband, President Joe Biden, was vice president and she served as second lady.
