Sept. 27, 2023 — First Lady Dr. Jill Biden met with Kansas City area students Wednesday at the Harry S. Truman Presidential Library and Museum as they explored the Missouri-born president’s decision to desegregate the U.S. military, as diversity efforts in the military have once again become a flashpoint in Congress. Biden, who is a community college professor, visited the library to learn about their civic literacy programs in her second trip to the Kansas City area in two years. She is scheduled to speak at an event in support of President Joe Biden’s 2024 reelection campaign early Wednesday evening. Read more
Sept, 26, 2023 — A new, year-round art display designed and curated by First Lady Dr. Jill Biden is shining light on America's military children, some of whom will now see their drawings and paintings featured in the White House. The Military Children’s Corner, which opens to the public Tuesday, features the work of 11 military-connected children — ranging in age from 8 to 19 — all of whom are based at military outposts that Biden, 72, has personally engaged or visited during her time as first lady. Sept. 25, 2023 — “U.S. First Ladies: Making History and Leaving Legacies” is a new college textbook that focuses on the impact of American first ladies on the policies and politics of their times. One of the book’s authors, American University’s First Ladies Initiative Director Anita McBride, joins Andrea Mitchell to discuss how first ladies have each defined their role. “There's no position description for a first lady. They get to pick and choose. They make it their own,” McBride tells Mitchell. View here

Sept. 24, 2023 — First Lady Jill Biden spoke at a Rancho Santa Fe fundraiser Saturday for President Joe Biden's re-election campaign. The first lady landed at San Diego International Airport at a little after 2 p.m. Saturday. San Diego Mayor Todd Gloria greeted her at the airport.
Biden spoke to about 40 people seated in the foyer of a Rancho Santa Fe estate owned by Allan and Megan Camaisa, a biotech entrepreneur and film producer respectively. Read more

Sept. 23, 2023 — First Lady Jill Biden finished her final Seattle-area stop, a Mercer Island event for the Biden Victory Fund, on Sept. 22. The motorcade departed from Shoreline, the previous stop, at 4:48 p.m. and headed to Mercer Island. A little more than 10 minutes before the time advertised on the first lady’s schedule for the second reception (6 p.m.), we were on the Island. Read more
