Jill Biden Announces Plan to Help Military Children with Disabilities
In her last White House event Thursday, Biden described how a collaboration between the federal government, nonprofits and private companies would streamline the transfer of support services.

In what was Dr. Jill Biden’s final White House event Thursday, the first lady announced as part of her Joining Forces initiative that a collaboration between the federal government, private companies and nonprofits would help streamline support services for military children with disabilities when they transfer from one school district to another, often across state lines.
The first lady in her remarks from The State Dining Room described listening to difficult conversations with military parents of children with disabilities who move frequently, but when changing schools their individualized education programs (IEP) wouldn’t transfer as easily.
