Nov. 1, 2023 — Review: “It all began so beautifully.” These are the opening words of “The Lady Bird Diaries,” Dawn Porter’s mesmerizing documentary portrait of former First Lady Lady Bird Johnson. The words are Lady Bird’s own, as is most of the narration of this extraordinary contemporaneous account of her husband Lyndon’s presidency. Read more
