Hillary Clinton’s ‘Fervent’ Warning Coming in New Book Weeks Before Election
This former first lady to also talk about the bonds inside the exclusive club of former first ladies.
Hillary Clinton will release a new book, Something Lost, Something Gained: Reflections on Life, Love, and Liberty, in the weeks leading up to the presidential election that describes the icon as a “Hillary like you haven’t seen before.”
Publisher Simon & Schuster announced Tuesday that the book will come out on Sept. 17 and will offer a glimpse into her closest friendships and enduring marriage to former President Bill Clinton as well as her unvarnished views on politics, democracy, and threats. “She shares the latest chapter of her inspiring life and shows us how to age with grace and keep moving forward with grit, joy, purpose, and a sense of humor,” Simon & Schuster said in a statement.
“The book reads like you’re sitting down with your smartest, funniest, most passionate friend over a long meal,” says Editor-in-Chief at Simon & Schuster, Priscilla Painton. “This is the Hillary Americans have come to know and love: candid, engaged, humorous, self-deprecating—and always learning.”
The book gets personal with the former secretary of state, senator and first lady writing about her return to the classroom as a college professor, the bonds inside the exclusive club of former first ladies, moving past her dream of becoming president and her advocacy for women and democracy.
Clinton also gets political. For the first time, according to Simon & Schuster, Clinton shares the story of her operation to evacuate Afghan women to safety in the harrowing final days of America’s longest war. She introduces readers to the brave women dissidents defying dictators around the world, shares new personal insights about her old adversary Vladmir Putin, and learns the best ways that worried parents can protect kids from toxic technology.
“We also hear her fervent and persuasive warning to all American voters,” says the publisher.
Clinton narrates the audiobook. A forthcoming book tour will include cities Washington D.C., Seattle, Boston, San Francisco, and Chicago. For more information, visit www.hillaryclintonlive.com.
FLOTUS: Election Is About ‘Character, Wisdom and Ability’
In a Charlotte, North Carolina, campaign event Tuesday, First Lady Dr. Jill Biden told a crowd of people that her husband, President Joe Biden, is not only the right person for the job in the upcoming presidential election, but “the only person for the job.”
The event was held at the home of Kevin and Elizabeth Murphy, where Charlotte Mayor Vi Lyles also spoke saying the stakes could not be higher of North Carolina’s role in the 2024 election.
Biden said former President Donald Trump wakes up every morning thinking only of himself, while her husband wakes up thinking of ways to improve the lives of Americans.
It makes her angry when Trump disparages veterans, Biden said. She added that Trump is dangerous to women and families.
This election is not about age, but rather about character, wisdom and ability, the first lady said.
She said MAGA Republicans are trying to bring the country into the past.
Biden asked attendees to remember the morning after the 2016 election. The crowd sighed and moaned in agreement.
“We cannot let that happen again, because I don’t want to wake up with that feeling again,” she said.
She closed her speech of about 12 minutes by emphasizing that her husband is working tirelessly to defend the freedoms and futures of the American people.
