First Lady Dr. Jill Biden Tests Positive for COVID-19
White House says she is experiencing mild symptoms.
First Lady Dr. Jill Biden Monday tested positive for COVID-19 and is currently experiencing only mild symptoms, according to her spokeswoman.
The first lady will remain at the Bidens’ home in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware, said Elizabeth Alexander, communications director for Jill Biden, in a statement.
President Joe Biden was tested after his wife’s positive test result and so far has tested negative, said White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre in a coinciding statement. The President will test at a regular cadence this week and monitor for symptoms, the statement said.
A year ago, Jill Biden also tested positive for COVID-19 not long after vacationing in South Carolina. This past week, Jill Biden made several stops in the Midwest, including one at a school in Indiana where she spoke with students about the importance of mental health.
