It was about this time last year when East Wing Magazine reflected on its first few months in publication and what caught readers’ eyes. It’s not lost on me that back then the country was only a matter of weeks removed from the death of former First Lady Rosalynn Carter. Today, just more than a year after her passing on November 19, 2023, the country is saying goodbye to her lifelong partner, Jimmy Carter. The 39th president, a humanitarian, peacemaker, preacher and public health champion, died in his sleep Sunday at his home in Plains, Georgia. Preparations, at this moment, are being made for public and private final farewells.
