East Wing Magazine Editor-at-Large Erin Donaghue to be Featured on “American Girl Women” Podcast
Episode airs on Halloween and tracks Donaghue’s writing career that began with a very spooky tale.
East Wing Magazine Editor-at-large Erin Donaghue will be featured on this week’s episode of “American Girl Women,” a podcast dedicated to the American Girl cultural phenomenon.
The American Girl brand grew from a series of dolls, released by the Pleasant Company in 1986, based on fictional girls from different periods of American history. Founder Pleasant Rowland believed “great stories with aspirational characters could inspire girls to make their own positive mark on the world,” according to the American Girl website. The dolls gained massive popularity, and the brand would eventually expand to include books, films, a magazine, and retail stores. For millennial women, the brand “took our childhood by storm,” “American Girl Women” says on its Instagram page.
