Viewers for the first, and perhaps only time, watched Vice President Kamala Harris and former President Donald Trump at the primetime presidential debate in Philadelphia where the two sparred over policies—domestic and foreign—and two contrasting visions for America. 

This was the first time the candidates met in person. At the start of the debate, Harris approached Trump, introduced herself and the two shook hands.
