Just as criticisms began to simmer down after President Trump began transforming the White House Rose Garden by replacing its lawn with pavers and as Republicans floated the idea of renaming the Kennedy Center Opera House after Melania Trump, the president rolled out another grand announcement this week of a planned 90,000-square-foot State Ballroom where the East Wing of the White House sits. The plan will displace the Office of the First Lady and other public-facing offices. Yet, questions swirling about the future location of those offices remain.

In other news this week, Mrs. Trump on her personal social media Friday celebrated a win when an attorney representing the first lady challenged a headline and how an article in the Daily Beast alleging a link to Jeffrey Epstein was framed.
